Stephanie Austin, in this month's Mountain Astrologer mentions that this Full Moon is also an important date in Mayan cosmology.

In Mayan cosmology, the Thirteen Heavens, divided into seven days and six nights, represent the fundamental stages of creation. From November 18, 2007 to November 12, 2008, we have been experiencing the 5th Night, a period fraught with economic upheaval as we witness the increasing breakdown of materialistic values and hierarchical structures. On the day of this Full Moon, we begin the 6th Day, representing the dawning of a new direction and a new era. Carl Johan Calleman, Mayan scholar and author of The Mayan Calendar and the Evolution of Consciousness speaks of this time as “the shift from chaos to the enlightened world.” He maintains that “we are talking about the emergence of an entirely new species of human beings” and that, during the 6th Day (November 12, 2008 to November 7, 2009) large numbers of people will move toward a more enlightened, global consciousness.

This is all in preparation for the alignment of the Winter Solstice sun with the Galactic Center on December 21, 2012. This alignment has happened in the past and symbolizes a time of spiritual enlightenment and evolution. Whether we believe this or not, it resonates with many people and inspires us to hope for a better future for ourselves and our world.

This full Moon in Taurus/Scorpio is squared by Neptune in Aquarius, opening us to our higher ideals of unity, freedom and equality for all. If we don't want big business and government to dictate how a unified world will look, we have to begin to imagine it for ourselves and then use all our talents to find ways to manifest real change.

Sabian Symbol for Sun at 22 Scorpio: A Gentleman wades through the belles at the garden party towards his love, who stands gazing over the lily pond. Attunement to life as a whole; sensitivity to the moods of nature. Stilling the heart so one's real desires can be heard. Emotional regeneration, reverence for life.

Sabian Symbol for Moon at 22 Taurus: Two tall trees frame the horizon, glowing with the premonition of dawn, a soft, peaceful wind blows toward the West. The 'angel of dawn'; breathing life into the sleeping world and awakening it to the fresh possibilities of the day; a sense of spiritual mission; the ability to calm and uplift people's emotions.

Sabian Symbol for Neptune at 22 Aquarius: A mountain man, in a multi-colored coat, running down a treacherous, zig-zagging mountain path. An overview of human evolution; catalyzing social change as an 'outside agitator'; fast maneuvering past obstacles to progress.

Play with these images and see what they have to tell you. If you have any planets in 18-26 degrees of fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) this full Moon will affect your life strongly.
