9. Vaccine maker Merck's biggest profit source is not vaccines but Keytruda, a drug that boosts the immune system to attack cancer. Merck makes the MMR (Measle, Mumps, Rubella) vaccine.
10. Sanofi is the big 'flu vaccine producer, but Glaxo-Smith-Kline has now produced Fluarix Quadrivalent which protects against four strains, and is expected to become a strong competitor.
I am glad whooping cough, diphtheria and measles are no longer the big killers of children. It is a difficult world we live in, in the best of times.
