So, does Management have a legitimate voice? Of course it does. But only Unions can check it. Again, the numbers are not on Management's side. What recourse, other than selling their souls to the least of us to get votes and then abandoning the faithful when it comes to actual legislation, do they have? Again, numbers play a role.
Back to the States, their size and differences, the colorful quilt of the US that is fading into one drab, clueless mass, instead of distinctly flavored individuals. Our Governors should be starring in this drama, like Gerry Brown in California, ("Moonbeam", they used to call him) setting his own standards for his state that other states should emulate.
Get with it, GOP, don't let the only legitimate item on your platform: State's Rights, be hijacked by the Left, or we'll all have to admit that we're actually one big party: Humanity; stumbling along as best we can, and that we're here to save the planet we're stomping all over in our attempts to 'conquer' one another. One big smack from a wayward Heavenly Body would drive this fact home. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.
We haven't perfected anything, and we never will. We're clearly a work in progress, and that progress is all about obtaining dominance of local celestial traffic, dissuading asteroids, and getting the Hell out of here, when the Sun goes out, preferably with most of the life here, digitized and reproducible. Against that extreme mandate, the rest of our garbage is moot.
So step up, GOP; redefine yourselves. You've gotten off track and you're going down. You're banking on a level of ignorance that is a thing of the past, and painting yourselves into a corner where nobody wants to live, where nobody can live, for long.
Hark to the Bible and the Sages of old: "For you shall know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free!" Words to live by.
