It would be good at this juncture to refer to a map of the Baltic Sea [3] particularly near the island of Bornholm where off its coast the gas explosions occurred at depths between 160 and 260 feet.
If it's now assumed it was sabotage how was it accomplished? Getting to the Baltic Sea by any maritime vessel has to travel from the North Sea into the Skagerrak Strait, Kattegat Bay passing east of Denmark's outer islands into the Baltic Sea. Presumably an undersea vessel, a submarine perhaps to avoid detection. Then conduct a specialized diving operation to set the explosives.
Of course many countries have the capability to conduct such an operation. But only one country and its president no less made it clear what would happen to the Nord Stream 2 pipeline if Russia attacked Kiev. At this point it astill would be pure speculation to blame the US even though conducting clandestine sabotage operations is a specialty of the CIA.
A thorough investigation is what's called for. Such an investigation may or may not discover who carried out the sabotage. Presumably Denmark would conduct it. Will its findings be politicized or authoritative?
Considering the antipathy toward Russia by Denmark, the rest of the EU, Britain, Canada, and the US it's hard to imagine the investigation being free of politics.
And laying the blame on the US? Unimaginable.
