Today there are many IOF soldiers on the streets of al-Kahlil...Palestinians say they prefer the Arabic name instead of Hebron. The large presents of IOF is because this is now the Jewish holidays called Sukkot:
"Five days after Yom Kippur Jews begin the celebration of Succot...While not officially a holiday, the five day period after Yom Kippur leading up to Sukkot are the most dangerous days in the Jewish calendar."...The Jewish Press.com (click here )/.
"Happy Succot from Hebron", says the Facebook page for Succot. "Join us Tuesday for the children's harvest festival, Wednesday for the Succot music festival and Thursday for special prayer services at the Tomb of Machpela!"...Facebook (www.facebook.com/hebronofficial/.
The Goldstein massacre resulted in the closing of the old Palestinian market on Shuhada Street. Israel said it was to "protect" Palestinians. Closing this central market destroyed the livelihood of hundreds of Palestinian merchants.
My friends and I have decided that we will follow the soldiers and settlers tomorrow to see if there are any serious incidents or violence. We hope there will not be but we will try and film them if there are any. Many of the Palestinian shops will be closed. Palestinians inside the Shuhuda Street checkpoint will have to stay in their homes until the celebration is over.
Palestine is ground zero for the "homeland security industry". It is much worse than apartheid. This is premeditated human experimentation and genocide on an industrial scale. Here, humans can be tested on what works and what does not work to break a person's will to resist and survive. Israel is experimenting on how to turn humans into non-people. It is dehumanizing for both the oppressed and the oppressors. But it is very profitable for the homeland security industry.
Palestinians have no human, legal or civil rights. Israel keeps purloining more and more territory and natural resources from the Palestinians. Water is an important one. It is severely rationed to Palestinians, and many of the major aquifers are located in the West Bank. Yet Palestinians are forbidden to drill wells, construct cisterns or even collect rain water. It is as if Israel would like for Palestinians to just dry up and disappear.
