Demilitarization and deNazification to occur.
That the former areas of Ukraine including Crimea, Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson remain part of Russian Federation-which all the areas held referendums and the people voted to be part of.
The sense from here is the war will end sometime in 2025. However, with Russia winning the war they're in the driver's seat as far as any negotiated settlement. Trump threatening Russia with additional sanctions if they don't comply with his idea of a settlement will probably have little effect.
Also the idea floating about of putting NATO troops in Ukraine as "peacekeepers" along the line of control is untenable to Russia and which they'll never agree to.
The US even under Trump, the EU and NATO will have to accept reality that Russia and not them will dictate the terms ending the war.
This is hardly a new idea but as been the rule since time immemorial to the victors go the spoils, which is clearly apropos in Ukraine.
Trump has also said he wants Greenland to be US territory even hinting of taking military action to do so. Same thing with the Panama Canal which the US ceded to Panama in 1999.
Greenland is Danish territory, which has given the island autonomy in running its affairs. Recent polls have revealed most of the 85,000 inhabitants prefer things as they are not wanting to be a territory of the US.
Panama controls the Canal Zone and has no intention of ceding it back to the US.
Trump taking military action against Denmark (a NATO ally) over Greenland or Panama over control of the canal will be seen by the world as aggression as clearly stated in the UN Charter, which the US is a signee.
As Trump's been given a free hand with Repubs controlling Congress we're in unchartered territory as far as what the next two years will bring before congressional election in 2026.
With Mr. unpredictable riding high in the saddle who knows what we're in for.
