Nobody lured her you say? The band was picked up for the inauguration because it was from Chicago, the native city of Obama, because it was a good band and she was just a black girl with a bright future. Nobody lured her in, there is no connection between the event of happiness and event of sadness, none whatsoever.
None? Give me a break. If you or your friends are picked up to perform for the President and the area where you live is " not that great, there could be a lot of people who, say, take notice, right? Some might be happy, some maybe not. NOTHING else happens after the band performs: the girl is returned back to school, the gangs are still there, the filth and drugs are still there, the highest possible rate of homicide is still there, the desperation is still there. Obama is back to his drone manual, Homeland Security is back to the real and imagined terrorists, the little wave is calmed. Is it? They said that she was not involved in any gang activity (imagine that, what if she was- what an embarrassment for the Secret Service), but some other folks around her (wow, what a casual randomness- MS) could be. So if you are a teenager and you are in the gang, would you not want to boast to other folks that you just talked to the girl who played for a President? Won't you brag about that? Won't you drive an attention to that, try to be around her? Some people might like it, some might not. Only before that girl was one of many and now she was a President's pet. That's the problem with rich and powerful- they take pets and they abandon them. They do that all the time. Sometimes their pets are people, sometimes, the whole groups or even nations like Haiti, sometimes drones become pets and then, to their surprise the pet- owners discover that abandoned pets have a life of their own like those Asian pythons in Florida. But at least the pythons can defend themselves. Little girls cannot.
There is a direct connection between the Cove, the dead kids in the deadly trails of our drones and the unfortunate accident in Chicago park. All those events are connected by MALICIOUS INDIFFERENCE. The Cove carnage repeats itself from year to year and the whole world knows but it is a Japanese problem, who cares. The drones kill people left and right creating a wave of hate of Biblical proportions which eventually can destroy the world but our dear President and all other half- wits in Congress can either hide behind manuals or pretend that we are "in the new war era'. And then when they all, people with malicious mentality want to feel good about themselves they lure a promising girl from Chicago to amuse them and forget about her immediately after. They changed her life, they made her visible, and some saw her while before that someone did not give a damn. We all are responsible for the consequences of our actions.
I would advise our President and all his cabal to go to Chicago and stay in that damned park for two days praying for the little girl and all other little girls and boys and men and women we had killed so far, million of them and then -- to promise to abandon the drones. I know that will not happen. So I post a challenge to OEN people- for week write about a story of any little girl or a boy you knew or heard of either killed or maimed or destroyed by our deeds, by our malice and by our indifference. I could name quite a few, like that young OWS poet whom I wrote about or that Iraqi boy who was shown on MTV right before the war started in Y 2003, I could mention Rachel Corrie or others like her. There is a plenty- pick one. Get his or her name. Bring them back from the dead so that they forever haunt us because we tamed them and we abandoned them. We lured them with wrong illusions of glamor, freedom and liberty and we killed them when they turned to us for hope. We thus killed hope. There is nothing more horrible than the hate which comes from the killed hope. May God have mercy on us. We must write about it.
Life is not fun in the time of the Cove and Drones and Little Girl dead. The tribute is not political. The tribute is human.
