There's probably a recession, maybe even a depression in our not too distant future. I certainly don't have a crystal ball to forecast what's on the horizon yet where is the light at the end of that tunnel?
Political leadership seems nonexistent. American diplomacy? Who trusts the US? Our European vassals'? They go along for fear if they don't they too will get hit with sanctions.
Sanctions and more sanctions is all that's in our "toolbox" against all our "enemies". We must have "enemies". How else to justify our bloated defense spending.
Of course we don't provoke our enemies we just conduct "freedom of navigation" patrols not off our shores but in the South China Sea and Taiwan Straits. Not how China sees it. They're provocations We expand NATO to Russia's doorstep-in contravention of an oral agreement not to move "one inch" eastward made by the US and the USSR in 1989-but we say NATO is only a defense organization. Not how Russia sees it. A primary reason for invading Ukraine was it joining NATO written in its constitution.
We're hardly benevolent in our dealings with all other countries. They either accept US hegemony over them or they're enemies. That's hardly being a peaceful nation within a community of nations. Again I don't have a crystal ball yet I see a day of reckoning coming. It's happened with all other empires in history. We're just next in line.
