JB: Your last comment needs some amplification. Many of our readers have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Let's start with the strip. How is the stripping of the voter rolls accomplished?
HW: Stripping the voters rolls consists of using computer programs to eliminate voters from being eligible to cast a ballot. In 2000 the allegation, as shown by Greg Palast, was that these folks were ex-felons. It turned out not one of them was. This year, there's a rubric about duplicate names, also bogus. But millions of voters are again being stripped of their franchise. They are nearly all, of course, African-American or Hispanic. In 2000 and 2004, the number of people thus deprived of their vote far exceeded Bush's margin of alleged victory.
JB: Who are "they", Harvey? And how do "they" not only get away with it, but fine-tune from election to election and disenfranchise even more eligible voters?
HW: They are the big money manipulators who owned the governors and the secretaries of state and who also own the voting machines themselves. They control the electronic election apparatus and can do with it pretty much whenever they want. These are the same big-money interests that run the government and controlling the elections is a major part of it.
JB: Tell us more, please.
HW: The key to Strip & Flip is to understand it's a two step process for stealing an election. The first step is to strip as many African-Americans and Hispanics and other suspected Democrats from the voter rolls. This is done through various computer programs beautifully reported on by Greg Palast. He described the process in our recent radio interview on the solartopia show at the WWW.prn.FM. Greg did the critical reporting on the 2000 election that showed how Jeb Bush stripped the voter rolls of more than 90,000 African-Americans and Hispanics to allow his brother to steal the presidency. This is now being done with a program called crosscheckalready: some 700,000 voters are being stripped in Ohio alone.
JB: 700, 000 voters disenfranchised just in Ohio? Yikes!
HW: This is prior to the demands for photo ID and other Jim Crow strategies to eliminate African-American and Hispanic voters.
The second part of the Strip & Flip strategy is to flip the electronic vote count on election night. This can be done because 80% of the votes cast in this election, or selection as it should be called, will be done on electronic machines. These machines were purchased mostly with the Help America Vote Act [HAVA] money coming from Congress after 2002.
These machines are now 10 years old or more and they are very easy to hack. Some of these machines can be flipped by Wi-Fi from automobiles outside the precinct In 2004, the overall vote tally in Ohio was done by a Bush family firm from a basement in a building in Chattanooga, Tennessee that also housed the servers for the email of Karl Rove and the Republican National Committee.
JB: You're talking about Michael Connell*, who died in a mysteriously timed plane crash in 2008, right before he was supposed to testify before Congress about this. His nickname was "Karl Rove's computer guru."
HW: Correct. This year in key swing states including Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa and Arizona, we have a Republican governor and a Republican secretary of state. On election night, they will be in charge of the vote count in those key states operating electronic counting equipment on corporate-owned machines where the software is proprietary. There will be no way for the public to monitor or verify the accuracy of the vote count, in other words, the outcome of the 2016 election.
In other words, the outcome of the 2016 election for president and many other offices will be at the discretion of a handful of Republican operatives. They will be able to flip the vote count and the ultimate outcome of the key races that will decide the future of the country. Then, they will proceed to adjust the exit polls to meet the requirements of the official vote count. None of it will have any necessary connection to the actual will of the American people.
A very large turnout and intense scrutiny by the Democrats could make a difference but we would guess that unless the Democrats win the election by more than seven or eight million votes, there is no chance they will elect a president or have any chance of controlling either house of Congress. The Democrats seem to have no desire to deal with any of this.
JB: That is so maddening, Harvey!
HW: We are continually told the way to win is just to have a huge turnout. It's ridiculous. Even if they succeed in electing a president under these circumstances, there is no way they can hold any hope of regaining Congress or the state houses or state legislatures around the country. Sooner or later, and it had better be sooner, we must switch to all paper ballots hand-counted with automatic universal voter registration kept on transparent records with a four-day national holiday for voting and no photo ID requirements.
