That's a good question to ask today in 2018 some 231 years later. Do we have a republic of, by and for the people or are we an empire, attempting hegemony over the world, full spectrum dominance of the land, sea, air and space.
Just how curious are the American people to the reality of US imperialism confronting the entire world? Do they care? Do they believe they're powerless and there's nothing they could do anyway so...
Other Americans who are curious have expressed their thoughts about America and its people and why "things" are the way they are. But Americans being incurious...that's deadly.
