Yes, I like to think that my unconditional positive regard for myself and my many OEN articles is alive and well. But, no, I am not under any mistaken beliefs about the supposed national influence of my various OEN articles. As far as I know, no OEN article of mine has been viewed by more than 12,000 times - which hardly qualifies me and my OEN articles as spearheading any supposed national movement of liberals and progressives for anything.
Ah, but this candid view of my national influence raises the question of why I keep writing OEN articles in general and why I keep writing wide-ranging OEN articles about porn that include, at times, deeply personal information about myself, as does the present wide-ranging and, at times, deeply personal OEN article. That's an excellent question!
Here is my answer to that excellent question. President John F. Kennedy and the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., were heroes of mine years ago, and each of them in his own way spearheaded a national movement of American liberals and progressives. Both Father Ong and the late Robert Moore, through their respective publications and their respective public speaking, aspired to spearhead a national movement of American liberals and progressives. So, yes, in writing my various OEN articles on various topics, I aspire to spearhead a national movement of American liberals and progressives - even though I realistically expect to fall short of actually doing so.
You see, I am motivated to write my various OEN articles by the spirit that the British poet Robert Browning (1812-1889) speaks of his 1888 dramatic monologue "Andrea del Sarto" when he has Andrea del Sarto say, "Ah, but a man's reach should exceed his grasp,/ Or what's a heaven for?"
