In the light of the devastating but very unusual earthquake on Haiti(only one-half of the island was affected) several sources, especially in Russia, asserted that it was the first test of the new US-developed geophysical weapon - similar to the nuclear bombardment in 1945. Now, they say, US had taken over Haiti to see the results. It is especially interesting in lieu of the 1946 8.1- level Hispaniola earthquake when only 1500 died.
