The American public has just been duped, exactly the way Orwell explains it in "1984". People underestimate the power of re-written history. The official government story is repeated in every history book and nearly every non-fiction book (all other books considered "conspiracy" books). So the minds of the masses are developed over the years believing such things as: the Germans were eating Belgian babies during WWI so the U S had to get into the war to "make the world safe for Democracy"; or that we just had no idea the Japanese were going to attack us (even though FDR told his cabinet at the end of November that "we are at war" and the Japanese could attack us as early as December 1); or that the VietCong fired on us in the Gulf of Tonkin in 1964; and so on through the wmd's in Iraq. It's all lies.   The American proles have no idea they've been lied to all these decades and they actually believe now that Islamic fundamentalism is behind all those "terror" attacks over the past 15 years. Orwell explains this with one clever paragraph:

"Once when he happened in some connection to mention the war against Eurasia, she [Winston's lover] startled him by saying casually that in her opinion the war was not happening. The rocket bombs which fell daily on London were probably fired by the Government of Oceania itself, 'just to keep people frightened…she had regarded the whole war as a sham…It's always one bloody war after another, and one knows the news is all lies anyway'.

Nearly all the people on the political right are among the duped proles. Many on the left are too, but overall the political left are better informed becasue they get their news from the internet, leaning years ago that the mainstream media is pure propaganda.

So thanks Steve Alten and Bill Douglas. Its just a matter of time before the little towns in Vermont and CT get their wish and see their administration-in-crime... thrown in the slammer.

I have been a "truther" since the Summer of 04. I equate myself to being NEO inside the Matrix. I knew the truth but most of the others around me, have yet to wake up. As time goes bye...more and more have their eyes opened and start realizing that they have truly been living in a dream world. I must say it is an amazing feeling to see this transformation take place in this country.

 I will admit though, I have been very impatient while I had to wait for 9/11 truth to TRULY enter the main stream conversation in America. That time is quickly approaching.

Pardon my quick analogy: When you enter into your child's burning bedroom to save them from a fire, you have two ways of doing so... (1)Scream an startle them awake (with the possibility of creating a panicked situation) Or(2) Gently speak to them ,to slowly wake up, cradle them and leave the building safely.

 Americans need to awaken to 9/11 truth slowly and safely. That cognitive dissonance takes a while to penetrate.

This new truth will be fought by the real guilty parties and that's what scares me. That dog is quickly being backed into a corner. I smell another false flag event as their only hope for diversion. I hope I'm wrong.

I just returned from a trip and in all three airports in went through, The Shell Game could not be found in any of the news stands / book stores.

Then I went to my local Borders and asked if they carried the book. The clerk had never heard of it, but went she looked it up on her computer, there it was listed under Mysteries. She walked me over to a narrow aisle and pointed to four copies at ankle level.

This is how this book is being suppressed, and if I was Alten, I'd be furious.

The following piece is dated but worth a read.  Now that both the CIA and FBI have admitted to lying about their 9/11 testimony, the investigation needs to be reopened. 

Public Testimony –

Those of us who have held a distrust of the “establishment” for a long time now, yet maintain our fighting spirit, are not so surprised by the machinations of the standing order.  We are rightly skeptical of the 9/11 Commission and its ability or inclination to reveal the truth about 9/11. 

The current occupant of the White House is due to give his “not under oath” secret testimony soon before the 9/11 Panel – or part of the panel at any rate.  One has to wonder if the panel will reflect the trend at work in the media to give Bush a “free pass” on his performance as a leader in responding to 9/11.  Nothing more clearly illustrates this phenomenon than the following quotes that issued from the pResident’s own mouth.  Their relevance to 9/11 is clear and their implications for Bush are staggering.  This must explain why the U.S. media wouldn’t touch these with a 10 foot pole.  Journalist Greg Palast was having a beer in the Orlando Airport, waiting for a flight back to England, when he witnessed the first of Bush’s statements on CNN.

“I nearly spit my beer out on the bar when I heard it.  I fully expected the American press to jump on this, but the next morning, not a word.”  This is what Palast heard and saw on CNN.  The quote is still on the official White House web site: 

"Well Jordan, you're not going to believe what state I was in when I heard about the terrorist attack. I was in Florida. And my chief of staff, Andy Card -- actually, I was in a classroom talking about a reading program that works. And I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower--the TV. was obviously on, and I use to fly myself, and I said, 'There's one terrible pilot.' And I said, 'It must have been a terrible accident.’”

This quote could easily be written off as just another stupid “Bushism.”  And surely, one would expect his handlers to reiterate the same words uttered by former Press Secretary, Ari Fleischer to: “Watch what you say.”  So did the press write this statement off for this reason?  There are plenty of quotes out there, books of them in fact, that give an indication of the “stature” of this man.  But keep in mind that “Bush Dyslexicon” author, Mark Crispin Miller, contends that Bush is not stupid and that he can actually speak quite clearly when its something he cares about, say capital punishment, for example.  Now the obvious question becomes (are you listening 9/11 Commission?): Why did Bush essentially repeat the same statement made in Orlando, a month later in California?   

"Anyway, I was sitting there, and my Chief of Staff -- well, first of all, when we walked into the classroom, I had seen this plane fly into the first building. There was a TV set on. And you know, I thought it was pilot error and I was amazed that anybody could make such a terrible mistake. And something was wrong with the plane, or -- anyway, I'm sitting there, listening to the briefing, and Andy Card came and said, "America is under attack.""

Obviously, the press has not been willing to hold Bush accountable for these statements or much else, until the pretexts for invading Iraq started unraveling.  The use of the events of 9/11 to justify invading Iraq, as well as justifying record deficits and curtailing civil liberties, are reason enough to bring up Bush’s performance in the wake of these tragic events.  In fact, the Republicans are running ads touting his leadership abilities supposedly demonstrated in response to 9/11.  So yes, it’s time for the media to revisit this man’s performance and ask some questions about the words that issued from his own mouth.  And while we may not be privy to Bush’s “not under oath” testimony to the 9/11 Commission, they too should ask some probing questions related to Bush’s public testimony on 9/11.  This “leader” needs to be held accountable.

If we, as a movement can collectively drive "The Shell Game" to #1 on the NY Times best seller list, it will open the flood gates for books like the one mentioned above.

A LOT is riding on whether we as a truth movement can come together and massively advocate thru emails, blogs, bulletin boards, newsgroups, etc. etc. "The Shell Game" and drive it to #1.

If we can focus and do that, a mass market for books like the one above, will open up!!

As much as I would like to believe that great inroads were made with this interview I'm afraid that this was not the case. I continued to listen to the broadcast after Mr. Alten's interview had finished. A caller came on, Andy, who made comments to the effect that Mr. Alten was some kind of "Perfume Boy", which is apparently a military moniker for a civilian. It seems Andy had read a book, he didn't elaborate on which one, that had said that it wouldn't have been possible to scramble air force fighters in time to have intercepted the 9/11 flights. He went on to say that these "Momma's Boys" just plain didn't know what they were talking about. He then made a comment that maybe some of these "Perfume Boys" ought to sign up and that maybe the forces could use them as jet jockeys. Mr. Bohannan interjected saying that they could be used for target practice. Knowing guffaws ensued with Andy saying he was trying to be nice, Mr. Bohannan replying, "I don't see why, why bother?". I mean honest to God, what a couple of chuckleheads. Dumb as hammers, you bet!

Pedro, I don't know how long you've been at 9/11 truth, but you don't win a battle with one blow. Over these six long years, we have expanded 9/11 truth awareness in bursts, that have always grown awareness.

Year after year there are never MORE people who believe the official myth of 9/11, there are always less. Each year there are always more that know it was an inside job.

Your above post could dishearten people from doing their part to spread the word on "The Shell Game." I'm sure you don't want to do that.

Steve Alten, and "The Shell Game" are one of the best opportunities to expand awareness of 9/11 facts. Alten is well spoken, polite, and states facts rather than theories.

He could do a lot of good for this country, if those who want to end the wars and save our democracy by expanding 9/11 truth support his efforts and spread the word on his important work:

Bill, it wasn't my intention to discourage people from seeking the truth. One of the great beacons of hope is the internet and the truth movement. I applaud this website and those who post here and elsewhere, and who actually participate in our democracy. I know that any exposure of these issues to the great mass of people who are being kept in the dark is a victory. But I couldn't help but feel discouraged with the comments made by Mr. Bohannan and his caller after the interview. It often seems that no matter how hard one tries to pound it into their heads that things aren't what they seem, you still end up with the same ignorant and intransigent attitudes. But I guess it's often a question of things being two steps forwards, one step back.

The awareness of the 9/11 lies has only grown over the years. When I first got involved 6 years ago, it was so bleak, but now, people like Steve Alten, Willie Nelson, Charlie Sheen, that french Oscar winning actress, all coming out on 9/11 . . . VERY EXCITING.

And The Shell Game, if we all focus on spreading the word on it, and get Alten on more and more talk shows . . . will be a powerful step forward.

Yes, it's heartening to see prominent personalities step forward to question the lies we have been fed about 9/11. I believe many more icons of our times in the entertainment industry would speak up but they are still afraid of harsh repercussions and ridicule. But you're right, the more people speak up, the more the 9/11 truth movement will gain credibility in the public's eye. Here is a website listing hundreds of professionals who have gone on record questioning the official version of 9/11.

Yes, Alan Miller did a FANTASTIC JOB putting that site together.  I encourage everyone who'll listen to take clips from that site and post them on popular blogs, discussion forums, etc.  Not 9/11 truth forums, but AOL, MSN, etc. etc.

There are enough quotes from high level people at that site to spend a whole day posting them on mainstream blogs and forums.
