So the 'beeb' has finally done away with our once-faithful short-wave, has it? - Short-wave is and for the last fifty years has been the most far-reaching and global method of transmitting news, well, a version of news, if recently rarely ever actual facts.
However, we could hardly be blamed for expecting that, could we, having noticed a virtually total absence of a native English voice for the last fifteen or so years - Well, except for quite clever imitations of low-class regional accents to act as feeds and daily general announcements to induce the immature to accept 'the service' as anything authentically 'British'. Only there hasn't been anything British about it for the last twenty years, certainly not of the traditional standards of Britain, nor even of the new and flourishing jungle that Britain has been made. No, during all this time 'the beeb' has been unashamedly just another offchore platform for interests foreign and subversive to all ours.
It became even more obvious that something was afoot when 'they' took to fading out anything of interest, so that finally we were left with only a few poor crusts of Alan Green's weekly 'footer', 'the market numbers' for Friends and anything 'they' wanted us to believe as pronounced by those cretinous front-men allies of theirs, Bush and those who manipulate him. Thus even the announcement of their impending abandonment of shortwave went unheard until a scant three days before the event. - They said that its cancelation was due to the few listeners to the service. Well, they had long ago carefully ensured that you couldn't hear it even if you wanted to, and their output was calculated to be what few if any with a normal brain would want anyway.
But we are hardly surprised. Their contempt for the wishes and opinions of the mindless cattle they have made of the rest of the humans has been manifest for the last few decades.
For those too young to know it though, I will explain that all the media used to be services in the public interest and for our benefit. Yes, really. The very word 'broadcasting' meant literally 'the wide casting of seeds' - we like to think that it signified of seeds of impartial information rather than of the subversion and treachery it has recently been made to represent. Yes, children, the very means of all communication has come to be a weapon pointed at your brains. We can only presume that the internet will be next in their sights.
Pity that, eh?
Surely we, the great majority of - despite everything - decent and well-meaning human adults, do not have to stand this betrayal of a species by a few others of our own kind?
When Bush, Cheney, Kissinger, Wolfowitz, Perle and co are hauled out for public trial, condemnation and penalty, surely those who have so cynically misused all our public media must also share the same fate. Together with those malignant very Few for whom they all work. May this come to pass soon.
