What To Do With The Extra Week In 2014

By       (Page 1 of 2 pages)   No comments

Every entrepreneur wants more hours in his day, and more days in his week.   Successful and busy people always feel that there is more to do than we have time for. More new ideas to chase and new opportunities to pursue. More innovations to develop. That's the nature of being an entrepreneur.

Maybe it's for that reason that, at least four months out of the year, we actually get an "extra" week -- Like January 2014. Most of us plan our projects on a monthly basis, at least from a scheduling perspective. So what will you do with that "extra" week you get four times next year?

A few ideas which I have learned after 11 years of CEO of one of the largest NY PR firms :

#1 -- Start a new project

So many times we try to start something new while we are still getting the current off the ground. Don't split your creative energies like that. Instead, set aside that week to develop something new. That thing you've had in your idea book for years, or that project you know just needs a little extra push to get going.

#2 -- Research a completely insane idea

Or you could use that extra week to do something that really scares you. Something completely outside your comfort zone, and unrelated to anything you've ever done before. This is one of the ways companies, and people, evolve, and grow.

#3 -- Take time to take stock
