National Emergency: The Bush Depression is Obama's 9/11.

We have been attacked economically, the one place we're most vulnerable, the one place where we rush to aid and abet the enemy in its quest to destroy America.

When your goal is to keep your Masters happy you don't always put America first, right, Lame Ducks? If you gave it any thought at all, what did you think would happen when you outsourced; moved businesses offshore with tax breaks, practiced predatory capitalism and broke your own rules, what did you think would become of the Americans still here whom you had stripped of livelihood? You knew what would happen. We would go into debt.

The old government, the new government, the media, everybody behaves like the proverbial ostrich when it comes to saving the economy. They use the markets as an indicator; they pump money into the black hole of bad debts, but worst of all, they all insist that consumer confidence is our salvation, if only the consumers will spend.

You can't get blood out of a turnip, Geniuses.

Consumerism, a unitary concept started in the 'Seventies, as Paul Harvey used to crow, "Americanism is 'consumerism'" was no more than a questionable slogan as long as the Middle Class actually had income from JOBS.

Consumers have to have income; we didn't, so what did we do, try to find a new economic model? No, we went into debt. To continue consuming for the whole world, as income went down, debt went up.

That has worked time and again for the government, but it never works for the American Middle Class (now a euphemism for those with job security) which is steadily shrinking along with the numbers of jobs. Even if we are willing to go into debt to keep spending, credit is frozen.

How do you punt financially?

We can't borrow any more. But the government can, 'cause it makes the rules. It doubles down on debt to spend us out of the depression.

The republicans who are left: they rubberstamped Bush's leadership into Hell, but they want to have a "firewall" against Obama, the Democrats and the "liberal" leadership. Forget working together. In other words, to them SOS means same old sh*t.

Media: tickled pink they have new grist for the mill, flying by the seat of their pants, still not a clue as to what's coming or who to back, they are like puppies with their brief attention span and shallow thinking.

Progressives are confused. They want all sorts of different things and believe all sorts of different things; that's all fine, after all, they are progressives, rightfully called because the one thing they agree on is moving forward with the best effort possible. Soon they must pull together and figure out where to throw their influence.

Rednecks are buying guns. Does this show they may have some insights about the economy? Not so. They upped their purchases of firearms when Obama got elected. Nobody should like the sound of that.

I can't offer the right course of action. I hope we all have plans, choices and options. But has anybody thought of a plan for what to do AFTER the Bush Depression finally arrives?
