By affirming in its June 30 decision (Hamdan v. Rumsfeld), the Supreme Court invalidated most of the Bush admin's "no-standards" interrogation policy. But rather than bring policy-and practice-into line with the intl conventions that the US had observed up to 9/11, the admin is now trying to absolve itself ex post facto.
