Why did Israel reject Kerry's ceasefire proposal?

Elizabeth Tsurkov argues that the sole reason for Israel's rejection of the most recent ceasefire proposal offered it, which would finally bring respite to the Israeli and Palestinian families who have suffered over the course of Operation Protective Edge, is diplomatic in nature, and concerns the Jewish State's desire to give Cairo, its ally, the credit, over Hamas' allies Qatar and Turkey.
