The top U.S. Supreme Court decisions from 1789 through July, 2013 (225 years), considered by CNN, total 17 decisions. During the first 219 years through 2007 thirteen of the 17 cases were decided, with two cases or 15.38% being decided by a 5-to-4 decision.
Since 2008 through 2013, four of the 17 cases were decided, with all four cases or 100.00% being decided by a 5-to-4 decision.
