It was an awakening for a new Democracy movement in America. We can only expect it to grow. Just wait until Bernie Sanders' political revolution shifts its focus away from the ballot box and into the streets. That day will come whether he wins or loses the elections. Let us hope that this is truly the start of a real movement for Democracy in America.

Under Bernie's healthcare plan, "patients will be able to choose a health care provider without worrying about whether that provider is in-network and will be able to get the care they need without having to read any fine print or trying to figure out how they can afford the out-of-pocket costs."

Hillary would love to spend a lot of the debate on foreign policy. CNN might bring up Benghazi, but I don't think the other candidates will. As the former secretary of state, she will want to impress people with her knowledge of foreign policy. CNN has a lot of control here. Let's hope Anderson Cooper allows it be a debate on the issues and not a gotcha circus like the Republicans had.

One person, one vote. Let's have primaries in every state. The best-case scenario is to have the national popular vote decide the nominee. Delegates should only be elected to pass a party platform and other business matters. Let the people choose the nominee in 100% open primaries with same-day registration.

Expect the Sanders delegates to arrive in Philadelphia with a reform agenda that includes things like an end to super delegates. Win or lose, the political revolution will continue. As Harold Meyerson said, "Bernie Sanders's campaign didn't create a new American left. It revealed it."
SHARE Wednesday, March 2, 2016 Why Let Red States Choose the Democratic Nominee?
The Democratic Leadership Council's goal has been achieved again. By front-loading the nomination process with southern states they have given the momentum to a moderate candidate. It is a system rigged against a progressive insurgent candidate. It will be an uphill climb, but the race is far from over.

Hillary Clinton had strong moments in this debate, and as Bernie said, she would be a million times better than any of the candidates in the GOP clown car. I agree with her on gun control, and I think she scored points in the "progressive" debate -- even though I agree with Bernie, you can't vote for the Iraq War and be progressive.

Let's get back to one person, one vote, and let all voters choose the nominee. I heard all the arguments for the little guy not being able to compete in a national primary, and it is nonsense. Bernie had the largest rallies from day one of his campaign and raised the most money. If you have the best message, you can compete. "One Person, One VOTE!" should be a chant ringing through the convention hall in Philadelphia.

If Sanders can win in the Midwest, it will be a while before Hillary Clinton finds a map favorable to her. Sanders should dominate the West and if he does, the critical thing called momentum will turn in his favor. The other side of the coin, though, is Bernie's path narrows if he doesn't do well over the next week.

The Clinton campaign can claim that Bernie had the home field advantage, but in reality they are losing to a better candidate. People know what Bernie Sanders stands for and they believe in his message. Hillary Clinton's only argument is that she has the experience to take the helm.
SHARE Sunday, January 31, 2016 Bernie Rocking Iowa in Closing Days
Just two days before the Iowa Caucus, Bernie Sanders joined popular pop band Vampire Weekend onstage in Iowa City and sang along to "This Land Is Your Land." It was the close of a concert for Bernie on the campus of the University of Iowa. A few minutes before, Sanders wrapped up a spirited address to 5,000 Iowans. It was the largest event put together by any campaign on their own in Iowa this year.
