Aloha: I live on the Northshore of Maui, one of the main islands of Hawai'i. I was born in Brooklyn, New York, lived in Fort Lee, New Jersey as a kid and graduated Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, Maryland. I have a Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in Political Science from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and a Master's Degree (M.A.) in Public Law/Urban Affairs from The American University in Washington, D.C. I spent close to seven years traveling around the world, having been in over fifty countries on five continents and all fifty states of the United States. In 1980, I became a disciple of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, know as Osho during the year prior to his death in 1990. This is from where I was given the name Nikhilananda, and in 1984, changed from my birth name of Harold "Harry" William Peltz, while I was living at the community of Rajneeshpuram, in central Oregon. At the time, it was the largest alternative/spiritual community in the world, with close to 10,000 residents, on 64,000 acres/120 square miles of land. I left "The Ranch" when it disbanded in 1986 and moved to Maui, Hawai'i, where I continue to live today. I worked mostly as a teacher during the years when I was employed. I assisted in founding the Green Party of Hawai'i(GPH) in 1992, and have run for the local county government on Maui on five different occasions. I am currently the Co-Chair of the GPH and serve on the National Committee of the Green Party of the United States. For the last eight years, I have had a live, public affairs, call-in talk show, Maui Talks-TV, on the local public access television station, AKAKU, on Maui. It is streamed live on the internet, at AKAKU's website, following the prompts to Channel 53. It is on every Tuesday evening, from 7:00 - 8:30pm HST. I play on various tennis teams in local leagues for fun and exercise. I own a small, three bedroom home on two and a half secluded acres on the Northshore of Maui, in the Huelo region. Maui Talks-TV has won a few honors and awards in local media. While in college, I was elected to Who's Who Amongst Students in American University and Colleges, in 1971 and again in 1972 and also was elected to the National Student Register in 1971 and again in 1972.
