NULLIFICATION: The Never Ending War with the left. NULLIFICATION: The Never Ending War with the left is a description of a new assault on the democratic process by the far right. As with the war on terror, which being against a stateless entity, is never ending - the war on the left is in the form of thwarting and/or undoing established legislation that the GOP despises. There are two main tactics; Legislative Capture and Legislative Arbitrage.

Myth Busting In an attempt to achieve political dominance and push their agenda, Republicans create, and have become adept at perpetuating political, social and economic myths. The GOP myth machine is in full swing today with new myths being promulgated every day. The first one that pops-up on my radar screen is the mythical refutation of the actual causes of the 2008 financial crisis.

Wrong Turn The Tea party movement is not new, it is simply a cyclical return to popularism which has been with us for centuries. From the Awakening in 18th centurary England and New england, to Andrew Jackson and Daniel Boon, the Scopes Trial in 1923, to the McCarty era in the 1950's the cycle continues.

I DESPAIR When I cannot understand why I cannot understand something, it bothers me. It starts as an itch and evolves into a low level headache. Well, I have had this low level headache for months now. The problem I ponder is why the Democratic Party cannot get its act together.
