Vote Green on November 4th
We are at a crossroads in history, and we face a choice in the South which all Americans face. Do we choose to continue down the path of abandonment, of hopelessness and fear or do we choose to embrace the compassionate, hopeful elements of our national identity? I for one, choose to hope. I believe that the government is here to serve the people and our elected leaders are here to serve you.

In Support of a Negotiated Peace
Much like Korea was in the 1950's, the United States is engaged in a war it cannot win against an enemy it cannot defeat. Recently, rhetoric by both the Democratic and Republican Presidential campaigns has been actively calling for a troop surge in Afghanistan. It is time for the United States to remove its forces from Afghanistan and bring the troops home now from the Middle East.

No More Drilling on Public Lands
There is no clear evidence that drilling on our remaining public lands will lead to a decrease in oil prices. In fact, oil prices are going to continue to rise regardless because global demand is far outstripping supply. The only real solution is to begin to invest in our alternative energy infrastructure and develop green solutions to the global energy crisis.

Living in a World Without Fear
It has become clear to the people of this world that the future does not include nuclear war or proliferation of nuclear weapons. After the cold war the United States and the former Soviet Union took a big step back from the precipice by dismantling some warheads. Since that time international will has resolved and grown stronger to continue the progress that was made nearly twenty years ago.

Not One More Child Killed
A bill in the US Senate deserves our support. Senate Bill 594, the Cluster Munitions Civilian Protection Act, currently has twenty-one sponsors in the Senate. This bill would ban the use of cluster bombs, which injure thousands of innocent people each year. Unfortunately, the Pentagon and Department of Defense officials have fought the effort to outlaw these weapons.

We all know that Lamar Alexander is a fixture in Washington DC politics, but what has he done for you lately? In a recent interview with the Cookeville Herald Citizen, Senator Lamar Alexander said that we are not in a recession in Tennessee, but if you examine his voting record, it is clear that the policy decisions that Alexander has favored are part of the reason we are in this recession in the first place.

The right to organize and join a union is a fundamental right, which must be preserved and maintained if we are to keep our nation strong. No Draft. No Way.
There has been talk in the military of reintroducing the draft. It is argued that we cannot afford to keep going the way we are. \Our military forces are broken. They are being taxed to their limits, but the solution is not the reintroduction of a draft. There is nothing honorable about recruiting unwitting young men in order to support the lies and misdeeds of the current administration.
