Wisconsin Democrats to submit one million signatures to recall Scott Walker Opponents of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker have about 1 million signatures on a petition to force a recall election, according to a state Democratic Party news release. If the state's Government Accountability Board rules that at least 540,208 signatures are valid and any legal challenges fail, Wisconsin will hold the third gubernatorial ouster vote in U.S. history.

With the final version of the Wall St reform bill to be hammered out in a congressional committee this month,this unwillingness by members of Congress to defend Wall St in public gives us a chance to make the bill as strong as possible. That's why we demand that the entire conference committee be televised.Members of Congress are much more likely to support strong reform on television than they are behind closed doors.

Surprise! Higher Taxes on the Rich Wildly Popular If we are going to achieve the 40% social investment economy, the public sector will require more revenue. More public sector revenue basically means more taxes. Clearly, the only new taxes that will be politically feasible will those targeted toward higher income groups. The best options are to repeal all Bush-era tax cuts, put a tax on all carbon

Biggest increases in support are for: * Intelligence services, up to 18 points to 79% * Immigration and naturalization, up 17 points to 64% * Medicare, up 14 points to 90% * Defense, up 14 points to 85 * Federal aid to public schools, up 14 points to 83% * Crime fighting up 14 points to 91% * Social Security, up 12 pts to 88%

This is an organization that helps progressives and liberals connect with one another in a variety of ways that, while not overtly political, often have positive repercussions for progressive politics.

ACTION: Freeze Out Fox News Instead of providing Fox News with a means to reach a new audience-- Democrats--and thereby stave off its slumping ratings, instead of giving them a golden opportunity to further distort the image of Democratic presidential candidates, the Nevada Democratic Party should chose a different media partner to broadcast the Democratic presidential candidate debate.
