Put the tears back in her eyes by getting on the fax and phone, telling your senators and other democratic senators to Filibuster Alito's ass. Do it today!!
Frankly, the first time I saw her, sitting beside her lying mate, she was making bizarre, smiling faces that made me wonder who the mentally ill woman behind Alito was. I didn't say anything because she wasn't the issue. But unfortunately for her, the right wing media and cowardly right wing pundits have been using her to take pot-shots at the left.
In my professional opinion, Mrs. Alito has problems. That's sad for her and her liar husband. The stress that comes with going the supreme court nominee gauntlet is immense. But her first minutes on the TV screen showed that she had no control of her face. That could mean she's an emotional basket case. It could mean that Alito's handlers neglected her, and probably it means both.
It doesn't matter. Alito is the greatest threat to this nation's freedoms that we have seen in decades, maybe even since Hitler. He's no Hitler, but he could easily, with his philosophies, allow a Hitler to emerge and take power in the US.
So... make his wife cry. Do what it takes to make sure he is filibustered. In the long run, she'll probably be happier living out of the limelight. If Alito is allowed to be appointed by weak, spineless democrats, he should be the victim of left wing scrutiny and editorial attacks for as long as he is on the courts. I don't that will make her happy either. For all we know, her children may even wake up and realize what a monster their father is.
