Thank goodness Joe found one, female and black,
Which means she's terrific despite any lack
Of brains or knowledge or experience foreign,
Or sweet poker face when old Joe was sworin'
He's never touched woman that wasn't his wife,
Far be it from him, heavens! Not on his life.
.
At last this political thriller's a go,
As sore predictable as Hawaii Five-O,
Assuming old Joe can the finish line make,
Without forgetting his lines or his take
On issues of day or the matter at hand,
Which is much asking of a push-80 man.
.
But looking ahead to the Demo convention,
I see the chance of a loud intervention
By the people who'll people the streets around,
And among them emit a mighty great sound
Of anger and rage, a.k.a. acute peeve
That again the Estab' pulled an ace from its sleeve.
.
'Cause instead of the Bern with his smart indignation,
We have the vice-prez, this grinning crustacean,
Who's clung all these years to the moderate line,
As spicy as menthol, as fun as Stop sign,
And sure all these protests will fast coalesce,
And with wrath, rocks and fire the Democrats bless.
.
So will we be watching a new '68
That tips the election to Him We Most Hate?
Don't bet against it: there's tons of folks fractious
Who raise holy hell and have plenty of practice,
And if they defeat the Force Order and Law,
It's Don who'll have the last hardee-haw-haw.
