--WASHINGTON ( Reuters ) 5/6/11 The U.S. drone aircraft attack ... in Yemen on Thursday was targeting ... U.S.-born radical known for encouraging attacks on the United States.
CBS News and The Wall Street Journal ... said Anwar al-Awlaki was not hit when a missile was fired at a car in southern Yemen on Thursday, killing two brothers.
\"We were hoping it was him,\" a U.S. official told CBS News.
Imagine, there he is among kin and countrymen in sunny Yemen, a nation known for leadership in pure devotion to Islam, occupied by British infidels in 1839 and persecuted by British military over most all of its history since then, his country as well as the kindred nation of the Somali people having their strong tradition of the given nobility of all men before Allah intact though kept down by the armies and navies of the imperialist nations to be among the poorest fourth of mankind.....
.....imagine sensing the significance, prestige and esteem in the eyes of so many, that he, Anwar Aulaqi, of humble origins, is designated a man of great influence among the enemies of the United States by the chosen leader of the white world, wielding great power despite being a person of color like majority mankind.....
..... that throughout the Arab world as the good people look to the sky in watchful anxiety for the unmanned contraptions that unleash bolts of light bringing explosion and almost certain death, that he, Anwar Aulaqi, though a fellow citizen of those aiming these deadly marvels of ingenuity, will be, in Yemen at least, held in awe by most, in esteem by many, cursed by others, for being considered by the President of America, to be of prime importance to assassinate.
One might also be curious whether this collateral assassination of his two brothers will steel al-Awlak\'s resolve and gain him sympathy and enhanced respect of his peers, and thus perhaps cause the drone attack to protect Americans to have been counterproductive.
Reflected upon within the relative safety of America on the seventh day of the fifth month in the two thousand and eleventh year of our savior Jesus Christ
