The former Ukraine Prosecutor General has filed charge in Ukraine against Joe Biden for interfering with his prosecution of Burisma, the oil & gas firm Hunter Biden worked for, in the 2014-2016 period, when the senior Biden was V.P. of the U.S. Under the filing, the Ukraine investigators are obligated to move quickly to launch an investigation into the charges. The penalties can result in up to 4 years jail time. Though Joe Biden is unlikely to have to serve time, even if found guilty in a Ukraine court (in abstentia), imagine the difficulties if a sitting U.S. president was facing a jail sentence in a U.S. allied country.

In any case, it weakens the Senate prosecution case against Trump considerably in the U.S.

Thank you Scott. It boggles the mind that the Dems presumed they could keep Biden's criminality in Ukraine under wraps while prosecuting Trump for looking into those crimes. Is it hubris or stupidity?

I'm not sure if this is a joke or satire but if it is a serious article it is the most ridiculous assertion that somehow Biden, even if found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, somehow would change the facts of the case against Trump. Its absolutely amazing the mental gymnastics people will go through to try and rationalize Trump's repeated criminal and treasonous behavior.

All true. But that's not what he's being impeached for. The Constitution only allows for impeachment for High (as in High office) crimes and misdemeanors.

And the specific charges are

1. Abuse of Power - related to the Biden investigation he tried to promote

2. Obstruction of Congress - in not releasing documents and witnesses to prove #1. If #1 is not viable, is #2?

In any case, Biden was the subject of Democratic and Media inquiry...until he wasn't. And that started in 2015, way before Trump.
