It is time.
Eric Holder should resign. I say he should resign rather than be fired because it is totally obvious that Holder has been doing the work Obama has told him to do. Holder should resign to save his reputation. He should resign AND make it clear that he is resigning because he can no longer be Obama's "sin eater" as Jonathan Turley calls him in his USA Today article: FIRE ERIC HOLDER.
I don't expect Holder to resign, because he has already demonstrated that he is totally willing to prostitute his integrity in obedience to Obama-- as he's violated our rights. Turley says it well in the article,
"His value to President Obama has been his absolute loyalty. Holder is what we call a "sin eater" inside the Beltway -- high-ranking associates who shield presidents from responsibility for their actions. Richard Nixon had  H.R. Haldeman  and  John Ehrlichman . Ronald Reagan had  Oliver North  and Robert "Bud" McFarlane . George W. Bush had the ultimate sin eater: Dick Cheney, who seemed to have an insatiable appetite for sins to eat.
For Obama, there has been no better sin eater than Holder. When the president promised CIA employees   early in his first term that they would not be investigated for torture, it was the attorney general who   shielded   officials from prosecution. When the Obama administration decided it would expand   secret and warrantless surveillance , it was   Holder who justified it . When the president wanted the authority to kill any American he deemed a threat without charge or trial, it was Holder who went   public to announce the "kill list" policy.
Last week, the Justice Department confirmed that it was Holder who   personally approved   the equally abusive search of   Fox News   correspondent James Rosen's e-mail and phone records in another story involving leaked classified information. In the 2010 application for a secret warrant, the Obama administration named Rosen as "an aider and abettor and/or co-conspirator" to the leaking of classified materials. The Justice Department even   investigated Rosen's parents' telephone number , and Holder was there to justify every attack on the news media."
Holder has played the sin eater for Obama when it comes to prosecuted and intimidating whistleblowers. Obama has, through Holder, gone after more whistleblowers than all the past Presidents in history combined-- and Holder has gone along with this travesty of Justice.
Holder, surely with Obama's encouragement, has pushed to keep former governor Don Seigelman in prison, along with many other Karl Rove appointed DOJ attorney prosecuted innocents.
I've been saying for four years that Holder will go down in history as the absolute worst AG in US history. Holder must know that Obama will throw him under the bus. It is time to remove holder as AG. The only problem is, knowing Obama, he'll surely appoint someone worse, very likely a Republican AND someone with strong ties to banking/finance, probably with a history of a connection to Lehman Brothers, as he's done many times before.
Turley adds, in his article,
" In the end, Holder was the best witness against his continuing in office. His insistence that he did nothing was a telling moment. The attorney general has done little in his tenure to protect civil liberties or the free press. Rather, Holder has supervised a comprehensive erosion of privacy rights, press freedom and due process. This ignoble legacy was made possible by Democrats who would look at their shoes whenever the Obama administration was accused of constitutional abuses."
Remember, Holder is Obama's man, doing what Obama told him to do. Now, Obama has instructed to do an investigation on himself. What an insult to any intelligent American. Do the Democrats in congress have a clue how bad they look allowing Holder to continue as Attorney General? The DEMOCRATS should call for holder to resign. The Democrats should lead an impeachment or removal effort to take Holder out of office. They should do it publicly to separate themselves from Obama. Obama should be the one thrown under the bus. And it should be made clear to him, by THE DEMOCRATS, that he is also susceptible to being held accountable.

But I fantasize. The Democrats are as bought and paid for by the corporations as Obama is-- just recall how many have voted with the Republicans on recent issues-- like allowing states to require labeling of GMOs. Only 26 Democrats and one Republican voted for that bill.

But I slightly digress. Coming back to focus, it's time for Holder to go-- one way or another.
