"For the aspirant on the way of life....The work of cleaning out the atmosphere of thought, of barring fast the doors of thought to hate and pain, to fear and jealousy and low desire, must first precede the conscious work of building. See to thy aura, oh traveler on the way." A Treatise on White Magic (1934)[i].

The Thoughts of Men

In her book A Treatise on Cosmic Fire (1925), meditation teacher Alice Bailey wrote that: "The separative and maleficent thoughts of man are largely responsible for the savage nature of wild beasts, and the destructive quality of some of nature's processes, including certain phenomena, such as plague and famine." If this assertion is true, then we must ask: Is the crisis of the COVID19 pandemic forcing humanity to face the problem of purification?

Purity

All Transcendental Meditation teachers are taught the following ancient passage: "Whether pure or impure; whether all places are permeated by purity or impurity; whoever opens himself to the expanded vision of unbounded awareness, gains, inner and outer purity." Simply, this passage asserts that for human beings purity is a goal.

The Aura: Planetary and Individual

The above rule of magic says: "See to thy aura...."

A sensitive named Eve Wilson wrote an article entitled: The Planetary Aura - Part III. There she said:

Our planet is a living Being with an eternal spirit, soul and a physical body to house them. Her aura is the energy field that surrounds, interpenetrates and creates her physical body, which is also our home.

The scientifically observable aspects of the planet's aura are called the atmosphere, which is an appropriate term on a lot of levels. The atmosphere is necessary to sustain life; it both protects us from harmful cosmic radiation and maintains breathable air and moisture. An atmosphere is also a term for the quality of energy we sense around a person or place.

On March 16, 2020, Jeff McMahon, a writer for Green Tech, who writes about "climate change, technology and energy" published an article entitled: "Coronavirus Lockdown Likely Saved 77,000 Lives in China Just by Reducing Pollution." In the article he said:

"....a Stanford University scientist"....Earth Systems Professor Marshal Burke used data from U.S. government sensors in four Chinese cities to measure levels of PM2.5, the tiny particulate matter considered the primary cause of death from air pollution....

Two months of pollution reduction "likely has saved the lives of 4,000 kids under 5 and 73,000 adults over 70 in China," [Burke wrote] on G-Feed, a blog maintained by seven scientists working on Global Food, Environment and Economic Dynamics"....Burke tested his prediction with a more conservative mortality calculation and still emerged with 1,400 kids and 51,700 elderly saved....

Burke cautions that his calculation is a prediction of mortality impacts, not a measurement...."But the calculation is perhaps a useful reminder of the often-hidden health consequences of the status quo," he writes, that is--"the substantial costs that our current way of doing things exacts on our health and livelihoods."
