Day78/April 8th/Wednesday: Obama rested.

Day79/April 9th/Thursday: The President announced improvements to military veterans that are to include:

(1)   a system to computerize the medical records of all military personnel, or Joint Virtual Lifetime Electronic record, which will streamline the transfer of medical information between the Defense Department, which holds information on active-duty servicemen and women, and the Department of Veterans Affairs, which manages care for military retirees

(2)   support advanced funding of veterans medical care

(3)   expands coverage to 500,000 previously denied veterans

(4)   increases funding for mental health screening  and treatment at all levels

(5)   increases the number of vet centers and mobile health clinics

(6)   improves services for Traumatic Brain Injury

(7)   funds a pilot program with not- for-profit organizations to make sure that veterans at risk of losing their homes have a roof over their heads.

(8)   provide every returning service member with a real chance to afford a college education. Transcript 

The President held a one-on-one meeting with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, seated at the picnic table by the Obama daughter’s swing set at the White House.

 The President requested Congress provide emergency supplemental war funding of $83 billion. Though an obvious contradiction of his honest budgeting promise, the President assured it would be the first and last time he would violate that commitment.

 In a small state dining room on the first floor of the White House, the President welcomed friends and staffers in for Seder, the dinner marking the Jewish holiday of Passover.

Day80/April 10th/Friday: The President met with his top economic team and outside regulators at the White House. The President was briefed on the results of the banks stress tests.

United States Vice-President Joe Biden announced $2 billion is going toward a Child Care and Development Fund. The money will:

(1)  help families pay for child care
