The Power Rectangle: Leveling the Living Field?

Leveling the living field is my analogy to leveling the playing field in professional sports to prevent super stars from flocking to one team. The power rectangle is my geometrical metaphor for reducing the five levels of power down to two. It would be impossible and impractical in any society for absolutely everyone to live at one level.

Will America's living field ever be leveled down to two levels? I don't think so. I have reviewed the history up to the present of attempts to do so. All have failed or probably will fail. I foresee later this century the definite possibility of one or more "unthinkables" happening; evolutionary apocalypse, ecocide, biological warfare or Armageddon. Nevertheless, fatalism is not the alternative. The only alternative that offers any hope is to continue seeking ways to level the living field. To quote Miguel de Cervantes' character Don Quixote, "the quest must continue no matter how hopeless, no matter how far."

Conclusion

It's paradoxical that the people who rule on earth are unfit to live on it and who may eventually make earth an unfit place for all of humanity to live.
