We don't need less government, we need government that works for the people and works smart.
Tea Partiers want to just slash everything and have no idea the real consequences of those actions!
Slash food stamps - hurt the grocery stores and the whole chain of suppliers and transporters, etc. causing more unemployment which means less money being spent on other goods and services--which means more unemployment.
Cutting the government to the extent the tea party would like would cause a disastrous cycle that could lead us to become as other third-world countries.
I happen to like clean water, state parks, beaches, nice roads, libraries, and all those things provided for by my taxes. I guess I could live in a country that didn't have taxes - but I might not enjoy it as much because it really isn't all that great without those things we take for granted or the jobs and pay that we enjoy as a result of our "big government".
