The United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) launched a new page dedicated to making sure young adults and their parents know the steps they needed to take to stay insured. The new facebook page contained step-by-step instructions on how young adults can stay on their parents' plan. Video

 

Day730/Feb23rd/Wednesday: The President traveled to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland to visit with U.S. military wounded and their families. Source

The President returned to the White House, where he met with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the Oval Office. Source

The President addressed the rebellion of the people of Libya, condemning Mohammar Qaddafi 's violent means of repressing the rebellion. Transcript Video

The President, in a released statement on the one-year anniversary of the death of Orlando Zapata Tamayo, called for the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners in Cuba and condemned the harassment and detention by Cuban authorities of Zapata's mother, Reina Luisa Tamayo and others across Cuba, as they sought to commemorate her son's death.

The President telephoned Prime Minister John Key of New Zealand to express deep condolences over the devastating earthquake that struck Christchurch, New Zealand, on February 22, 2011, and to reaffirm the offer of American assistance as New Zealand recovers. Source

The President telephoned President Felipe Calderon Hinojosa to thank him for Mexican efforts to bring to justice the murderers of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Special Agent Jaime Zapata, including the arrest this day of one of his alleged killers. Source

The President met with United States Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner in the Oval Office of the White House. Source

The President spoke by telephone in separate calls with President Nicolas Sarkozy of France, Prime Minister David Cameron of the United Kingdom, and Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi of Italy about the situation in Libya and to coordinate efforts to respond to developments and ensure   appropriate accountability. The leaders discussed the range of options that both the United States and European countries were preparing to hold the Libyan government accountable for its actions, as well as plans for humanitarian assistance. The President, in a released   statement, commended the Government of Algeria for taking an important step forward this day by formally lifting the State of Emergency that has been in place in Algeria for 19 years. Source

The President and First Lady Michelle Obama hosted music legends and contemporary major artists in the East Room of the White House for "The Motown Sound: In Performance at the White House," a concert celebrating Black History Month and the legacy of Motown Records.
