My Vote of Zero Confidence (and Zero-Confidence!) in Your Disabled Community

Well, I'd rather not.

Call me 'human,' by all means, if you wish.

But don't call me 'Human.'

Disabled people are individual. Disabled individuals, yes! But individuals nonetheless.

Don't claim that we are a community.

A community of your own fevered, abusive and manipulative imagination.

Whose interest does such a notion serve?

I think you know:

The 'Common Humanity' of toxic corporatism.

You, for your part, may share a 'Common Humanity' with Beltway neocons and liberal interventionists.

But you are welcome to 'Their Common Humanity.'

Being a human being beats the false deity of 'Big Humanity' every time. It has been well said:

"The priests of this new creed ascribe to their idol all those attributes which the theologians ascribe to God."
