The appeals process is meaningless. The entire policy is absurd. No, not a violation of First Amendment: FB isn't a "government agency." But as a near-monopoly like Google and YouTube, these arbitrary enforcements of vague and nebulous "standards" give them a responsibility to not suppress speech. They take on quasi-governmental status and given their use of the Internet shouldn't be allowed to start censorship beyond clearly delineated standards of legality."
From the group, Support for Politicians Refusing Billionaire $ Like Bernie, by Janis Ripple-Nadrowski:
Me Too, Many Times Blocked from Doing Citizens Work Starts With Blocking me during DNC Conversation In when Bernie was really gaining momentum... All I was doing was posting a meme of where Bernie Group where going to have Rally's in multiple States. FB locked me out of posting except on my time line I was able to post YouTube video. I am persistent. I have also worked in this system through appeal process- difficult to Know where to connect. I NEVER got straight answers. Friends said someone might have reported me- but for What- no evidence ever given.
Melinda McCracken I agree completely with your article, but with Congress breathing down their necks, threatening to censor more if they don't do enough, I seriously doubt that we are going to have more freedom of speech on this or any other platform owned by oligarchs. They own this and the lawmakers and the courts, so where do we go for justice? I think the time is coming soon when we will be forced to reorganize on other sites like MeWe, Minds and JustNForm, to name a few. The shift has already begun, so perhaps we should persuade our associates here to join the exodus and be prepared in time for the work of the next election.
Babes of the Revolution, from Troy Turton: I got banned for 2 days, for using the word Rape in reply to Republicans who supported that a-----e for the Supreme Court!
John Wilkerson: I really don't think any of these concerns are valid. I'm a liberal progressive. Facebook is Zuckerman's playhouse. It's a private club. There are no constitutional rights in social media. I have won reprieve through appeal process, I make mention of Constitutional Rights ACLU Ădegrees?? ¸

"This article about FB Jail is a fabulous idea; you could do some polling, even present those poll questions in our group. I believe when I've been jailed, it is when others report it, also sometimes if I have shared too many times, I've been blocked from posting to groups I run! which is totally insane! I can see a group not wanting the content but my own groups?! FB is a private business, free to the public, so I believe new laws are needed to protect free speech here, just like the principles of democracy need protection for those like myself working in exploitative corporations."

"1. I don't think FB's stance is based entirely on too much too fast posting. I post at about the same rate all the time. I don't think it's just algorithmic; I think it's also about content (political). It may also have something to do with how many people report one's posts. Once you have been restricted, they seem to watch over posting more closely. I have been restricted many times. Most often recently, there is no warning. FB just removed 4000 friends and left me 1000. During that week I had little use of one account.
I started a group called "Doin' Time for FB Crime" to keep track of things. Unfortunately, I set it up as private, so the posts are not shareable. If you want, I will add you to the group, which only has about 16 members.
2. I don't suppose it's a violation of my free speech to be restricted from their service, since I certainly have other ways to share info (and I can always get another identity). Facebook just makes us all feel like criminals, just as all ridiculous laws do.
FB does seem to step up their restrictions during important periods (elections). That is totally biased and a misuse of their power.
Then again, Julian Assange also withholds info until the time is right for him, so I guess that is what power is. Thanks, Karen

1. Is Facebook Jail content related or strictly on a numerical basic, as in posting too much in too short a time? I'm not sure, FB does restrict me when I add friends too quickly, though.
