"In evening take longer. Much traffic in evening so must walk first then run when clear. Take 2 or more hours in evening."
As my flaccid western mind computes how many hours my Lee Security friend works and runs and sleeps, as I think of how many times I've bitched about a commute from behind the wheel while sitting on a comfortable seat listening to a radio, I feel something more than just "spoiled."
While I am taking these few seconds to ponder inequities, my security man with the sparkling eyes asks, "How many countries have you seen in your whole life?"
I forgot what I said. But I did say, "Where would you like to see?"
"Europe and England," he said, with his smile.
If that Judgment Day comes, how does the Big Clock Maker in the heavens score the manliness of Fr. Larry's God and GPS commanded commute over Detroit's snowy roads against those of my sock-less running tennis-shoed security guard over the crowded and often unpaved roads of Nairobi?
If the rich must pass through the ides of a needle, what becomes of those like us?
Will the comfortably blessed have done enough to satisfy an all powerful God?
