My standard of the ideal character-set to be sought in those that we would choose as our leaders is taken from a Chinese source some thousands of years in the past and -- in my view -- defies improvement or embellishment. We must seek as our leaders, beyond our political partisanship and other persuasions, persons of Intelligence, Courage, and Goodwill.

With this objective, will we ever be fooled, disappointed? Of course. But we must pass our own morality test as honest citizen voters, and look into the truth of our individual souls, and each of us ask of oneself: Am I supporting the person for leadership who best represents these requisite qualities?

That is the best I can do to describe my political philosophy, and I try as best I can to reflect these standards in my political decisions, writing and behavior.

One cannot presume, however, that in disrobing one's political psyche, one will escape punishment. Thus, from a source I have no way of predicting, I await the next accusatory label.
