The challenge this full Moon chart offers us is to achieve balance within our emotional bodies while we charge forward with new plans, new focus, new beliefs and new identities into the future.   Balancing our emotional body means that we actually "feel' our emotions and get the messages they are offering us.   If someone says something that hurts your feelings, instead of getting angry (a very Mars in Aries kind of response) you have the choice to look at why your feelings are hurt and let that person know what they have done to you.   This offers both of you a chance to grow.

With Mercury slowing down (it meets up with Mars on April 19) and about to turn direct on April 23, the hope is that we've looked into our own darkness and seen our truth.   Coupled with Earth Day, perhaps the truth of what we are allowing to be done to the Earth in our name will finally hit us.   And we'll do something about it!

That's the hope of each Eastertide -- that as we willingly sacrifice our petty ego desires and unconscious emotions for a greater sense of Self, we will Rise again in a new life centered around Love and Wisdom.   What can we send into the future for our world except our great Love and a belief that Divine Spirit is holding us all in Hand?   And then boldly go where we've never gone before to "make it so'.

This full Moon comes right before Passover, Easter and Earth Day, which is the same day as Good Friday.   Our religious holidays offer us meaning within the context of Earth's seasons: out of death comes new life, just as out of Winter comes the rebirth of Spring.   And the symbolism of Earth Day and Good Friday coming together can add a new and deeper meaning to our belief system.

Christ died to redeem our relationship to Earth as well as to Heaven, teaching us that the Divine Spirit is within us and here on Earth. This is the great teaching of the Piscean Age.   Have we learned our lesson?   What can we offer in sacrifice (to make sacred) to the Earth?   What is our obligation to our Mother planet at this moment in HerStory?

The Sun moves into the sign of Taurus (April 20) a few days before Earth Day (April 22), reminding us that we are meant to be stewards of this beautiful, abundant planet.   The fact that we continue to poison our own home (the Gulf oil spill occurred last Earth Day) says something about our refusal to take responsibility for our lives.   That's got to change!

The full Moon in the signs of Aries and Libra bring together two opposite powers: the power of Mars, the warrior, explorer and defender and the power of Venus, the lover, connector and wisdom-keeper of the Earth.    With the archetypal energies evolving along with our consciousness, we can let Venus' power of attraction, connection and peace sooth the savage beast of our warring natures.   Can we transform competition into cooperation?   Yes, through our sense of connection.   Can we stop wars?   Yes, through a standpoint of peace.   Can we be warriors that defend the land?   Yes, by listening to the wisdom of the Earth.

All planets have cycles.   The Venus/Mars cycle lets us know how we are growing in cooperation, love and connectedness with ourselves, each other and the Earth.   Last August 20th, Venus and Mars came together at 14* Libra: In the heat of the noon hour a man takes a siesta.   This image speaks to the need for "recuperation within the social pattern of everyday activity'.   Sometimes we just need a break!   And after last summer's intense cardinal grand cross that certainly signaled the beginning of great changes, perhaps we needed to take a break to build up our energies to meet the great challenges that are facing us.

Now we are nearing the end of this cycle, which means we are being tested on what we've learned before starting a new cycle.   How much of a siesta did we take?   And did it revitalize us?

For this full Moon, Venus is at 27*Pisces: The Harvest Moon illumines a clear autumnal sky.   This image symbolizes the' light of fulfillment that blesses work well done'.   It is time to reap what we have sown and cultivated.   This is a consummation -- a karmic moment - where the seed of a new cyclic manifestation is already latent.

For this full Moon, Mars is at 13* Aries:   An unexploded bomb reveals an unsuccessful social protest.   This degree symbolizes an' immature evaluation of the possibility of transforming suddenly the status quo.'   It is a symbol of an old way of trying to manifest an idealistic desire for harmony and peace.   Make war for peace!   That has to go!

Venus is trying to let Mars know that we've already accomplished what we've set out to do.   I believe these symbols tell us that it is time to use our spiritual consciousness to create a new paradigm in which our warrior nature defends what is precious, instead of trying to grab what isn't ours to take.

On May 23rd, Venus will once again join with Mars to discover their new mission.   Siesta time is over!   Venus will join Mars on May 23 at 10*Taurus: A red cross nurse.   This symbol shows us the compassionate linking of all people.   It says we are ready to take "the feeling of human cooperation to the stage of pure altruism and service to the social whole'.   This is the Christ-love of true compassion and companionship - of Agape as a "high state of love that implies going into the dark to bring life and love to the tormented and the deprived'.   We are being called now to a consecration of our individual energies to all of humanity.

While Saturn puts the reins on Mars for this full Moon, Venus squares the Nodes, directing our attention to using the Imagination to get in touch with our deepest values as we seek to find meaning and truth (Sagittarius North Node).   Venus also inconjuncts this full Moon, forcing us to pay attention to our sense of self-worth.   If we don't love ourselves, how can we love others?   Venus will also meet up with Uranus in Aries (Venus enters Aries on April 20-21) on April 22 Earth Day, sparking new commitments to creative action for the Earth.

The Sabian symbol for the Sun at 28* Aries is: A large audience confronts the performer who disappointed its expectations.   While we can point the finger at Obama, the US Congress and Senate as well as Charlie Sheen, it's always better to look at the log in your own eye before you look at the cinder in another's eye.   We have to take responsibility for how we handle the situations in our lives.   We have to realize that potential by itself doesn't necessarily manifest as we hoped.   We have to take responsibility for how our actions affect others, especially when we have promised far better than we give.
