The future historical record stated that somehow the bizarre logic behind this blaming of the Progressive movement’s dissent for the problems of the day was never questioned by the majority of the public; and the explanation of culpability became generally excepted over time… Possibly as a convenient subconscious means of distraction for the individual from having to face the very hard realities of the day.

During this period, the ostracizing and isolating of the Vocal Left became somewhat of a national pastime... Oddly enough, it also became the main means for the “New Unity” between the two major Parties. TV and print pundits spend much of their time pointing out the Lefty bad-acters’ faults. After all, didn’t we have a more “Liberal” government now? Just what did these Godless cretins expect or want anyway?! They are totally unreasonable! They have no control over themselves! They are hurting us all! And they smell bad too. Ick!
