Yet if health care is a right, then doctors and nurses become our slaves, and indentured servitude is a violation of THEIR rights, not to mention the Constitution! Instead, few people would argue that access to health care isn't a right, and that right may already be covered under the 9th Amendment, since it seems to be a universally recognized right the world over. Simply being free to choose which colluding insurance company one deals with is NOT the same as freedom of access!
We The People must once again join together and clamor for a true, universal, single-payer system. We need to "socialize" health care just the same way we've socialized police and fire services! Like a skilled surgeon, we need to cut out the cancer that is the health insurance industry, and let them be happy insuring our lives, cars and homes. To a greater degree, we must once again bring corporations under control of The People by rescinding the Santa Clara decision and taking away their special rights" but that's another battle for another day. For now, we need to stop buying the lie that the industry is selling; see the debate for what it is; stop letting them hijack our minds and see that the emperor has no clothes! DEMAND a single-payer system, VOTE OUT those Congressmen and women who have sold us out to big insurance and be involved! Know your reps! Call, write and e-mail them. Become a pest, and make sure they know your name. They work for YOU, not the insurance cartels. Remind them of that, vigorously! And that goes for President Obama, too. Let him know that if HE can't, then WE can!
