Conversely, both Democratic and Republican candidates who sound stiff and/or wooden and/or technocratic will often put off would-be supporters. So the effective use of the pathos appeal seems to be important in presidential campaigns.
But Trump is a RINO. He is not the standard-bearer of movement conservatism. So has the dominance of movement conservatism in the Republican Party come to a welcome end at long last?
Besides that, Trump has never served as an elected official at any level of government in the United States.
Neither had Ross Perot or Pat Buchanan when they ran as independents for president of the United States.
So Trump's use of anger as his pathos appeal may not be enough to enable him to win the presidential election.
