Opednews is where you get the real thing. It's not just progressive opinion. It's the hard, cold truth, the real facts. If you don't listen to Bob Kall, if you don't read Opednews, then you don't know what the hell is happening in American you don't know what's happening to you. This is our weapon of mass instruction. Read it top to bottom or you just don't know what's going on.

MAB: Thanks, Rob. OK, let's talk about your new book, Bottom-Up Revolution: Mastering the Emerging World of Connectivity. First, congratulations on publication, I know you have been working on this book for a long time! Please share with us how it fits in with your vision for OpEdNews?
RK: My inspiration to write The Bottom-up Revolution started with my experience with OpEdNews. I found that the more bottom-up an approach I took to OpEdNews, including working with writers, readers and volunteer editors in the decision and policy-making process, the better the site did. That fascinated me, and inspired me to start my Bottom-up Radio show, where I could explore bottom-up ideas with thought leaders and innovators who had taken bottom-up ideas to become highly successful-- people like Jack Dorsey of Twitter, Craig Newmark of Craigslist, Arianna Huffington, Robin Chase of Zipcars, and over 450 more. It was a learning journey and adventure that led to many discoveries-- including the realization that the reason that the bottom-up revolution is so powerful isbecause we have evolved genetically to be bottom-up beings. Humans lived, for millions of years, as bottom-up, interdependent, hunter gatherers living in small 30-80 person bands, evolving hundreds of bottom-up genes that enabled them to live together in cooperation with each other and their environment. That gives me a lot of hope that the new generations, born marinated in bottom-up digital technologies, will challenge the top-down powers that be and take back our bottom-up nature for humanity pushing a paradigm shift so that civilization will become bottom-up.
MAB: Well, we need a paradigm shift, and I'm glad OpEdNews has a place in it. Thanks for sharing some of the backstory!
RK: Thanks for the interview! And I'd like to take this moment to thank you and all the other dedicated editors and volunteers for helping to power this ship!
