The predicted spread of the oil spill in the Atlantic has been the subject of recent computer simulations at the University of Hawaii. See them at: http://www.physorg.com/news197632475.html
Skimmers seem to be one of the useful technologies for recovering oil in the Gulf. While deep water skimmers are being utilized, there are apparently a great many shallow water skimmers which, so far, remain unutilized. Greater use of skimmers can clearly help prevent some of the oil from reaching the Atlantic.
The centrifuges developed by Enviro Voraxial Technology and by Kevin Costner's firm are also able to assist.
In spite of understandable skepticism, superseding oil and fossil fuels is possible. Read: Moving Beyond Oil, on this site, for a couple of revolutionary, presently very difficult to believe, technologies that can help. A 24/7 program of validation, development and production - that includes every variety of existing and promising technology - could move that objective forward much more rapidly than might be imagined.
If you might want to share this 5 Point Plan with The White House, Bill Clinton, Michael Moore, other movers and shakers, or anyone else that might be interested, by all means do so! Thanks,
"This is preeminently the time to speak the truth, the whole truth, frankly and boldly. Nor need we shrink from honestly facing conditions in our country today. This great Nation will endure as it has endured, will revive and will prosper. So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself--nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every dark hour of our national life a leadership of frankness and vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory. I am convinced that you will again give that support to leadership in these critical days." Franklin Delano Roosevelt 1933
