Peaceful ProtestsIn 6 regions (States), they have taken over the government by ousting the governors and legislators from other parties. Ski masked thugs have literally thrown governors and legislators out of the buildings. Governors are appointed by the president, legislators are elected locally. OUN (b)'s political parties are trying to declare opposing parties illegal.
The OUN (b) groups related to Pravy Sector have repeatedly threatened to take Nuclear Power plants and hydro electric plants. The US government told the Ukrainian government to increase security at the plants for that reason.
Where did they come from? How much influence do they have today? Who are they? How mainstream are they? Why should I care?
These questions need to be answered. If you don't care after that; Imagine Hitler with nuclear weapons at the beginning of WW2, you might change your mind.
Pro- Democracy, Nazi, Neo-Nazi, or Fascist?They had their own state once. The Peoples Republic of West Ukraine lasted from 1918-1919 had its capital in Lviv. This is also the home of Ukrainian Nationalist aspiration. Ukraine is mixed nationalities so the whole "pure superior race" of German Nazi lore was out of the question. They replaced it with pure Ukrainian language. It replaced nationhood as the primary tie of the nation. If you speak Russian, you are not a Ukrainian Nationalist.
That is the argument between Russian speaking and Ukrainian speaking Ukrainians. When the Euro-Maidan started Russian speaking Ukrainians in Lviv were subjected to mock executions when their language was noticed.
The OUNUkraine is sharply divided in how it remembers the OUN (b) (m), and the Waffen Galicia SS. In the west no mention is made of the ethnic cleansing they did before the unit was formed and very little is said about after ." Roman Shukhevych , the UPA commander , stated in his order from 25 February 1944: "In view of the success of the Soviet forces it is necessary to speed up the liquidation of the Poles, they must be totally wiped out, their villages burned ... only the Polish population must be destroyed."
In the Nationalist capital Lviv, they killed 6000 Jews during the Nazi siege. They were chosen for inclusion to the SS unit based on their commitment to Nazi ideals .
OUN Involvement - "During the first year of German occupation, the OUN urged its members to join German police units. As police, they were trained in the use of weapons and as a result they could assist the German SS in murdering approximately 200,000 Volhynian Jews ."
Ukrainian Auxiliary Police became the OUN .

Eastern Ukrainians remember them killing over 100,000 of their own people, 200,000 Jews and they planned to kill 1/2 of the population of Ukraine because they knew that half would not be Nazis.
