The third element is this society and its people that are under siege and being ravaged by the financial/business sector. The majority of Americans are now becoming more and more aware that they are no more than objects to be manipulated by these masters of deceit that, effectively, are in control of this country. As they absorb the heavy blows and abuses being administered by Wall Street and Corporate America they are becoming extremely angry and frustrated because they find that they are powerless to fight back. And that increasing anger and frustration can be held back only so long before it triggers some form of very serious societal eruption.
This government, its society and its people have been given numerous warnings about this massive storm of great intensity; warnings that this military hubris has reached proportions that are unsustainable, that the costs of this military machine are driving this nation toward insolvency, that our domestic and societal foundations are rapidly eroding; that America is rapidly spiraling downward.
But these warnings of impending disaster, even as they grow louder and more intense, continue to go unheeded; we just don't seem to hear them and, if some of us actually do hear them, we refuse to accept such dire predictions of the dangers that lie ahead. And, just like the Andrea Gail and its crew, we continue on this precarious course thinking that this country is invincible, that there is no force that it cannot withstand. That, of course, is a good example of delusional thinking as the many empires that collapsed down through history found out the hard way.
So, what are the chances that this powerful storm will dissipate and lose its momentum before it arrives with a mighty impact? Realistically, they are very slight. The only way that I envision that this approaching disaster can be averted is if this government, understanding that this approaching storm has the force to cripple this nation, takes the necessary steps to effectively scale down its military presence in the world, significantly reduces the grossly overblown military budget, and then uses those hundreds of billions of dollars to rebuild America and restore the stability of its society.
The captain and the crew of the Andrea Gail were repeatedly warned of the colossal storm closing in on them and the extreme danger that they would face if they persisted on their dangerous course. They chose to totally ignore those warnings and paid the ultimate price. We in America now have a very similar choice. War is the eye, the center of this storm. If this government and the people cannot finally accept that reality and come to the conclusion that this agenda of perpetual war must come to an end, then America will feel the full fury of a storm like no other.
