George Bush's went up to almost 88% after 9/11 but steadily declined until hitting rock bottom at the end of his second term at 22%. It was the economy, stupid. And so with the country going from lowest unemployment rate to highest in a matter of two months, Trump's I'm a job creator presidency will not be able to come back with 6 million jobs in two months.
Lack of Critical Thinking
Perhaps the most worrisome thing about the "Bump" is that there was a bump at all: Trump supporters again don't seem to take his ineptitude seriously enough. Every press conference has served as a red flag: America has a leader who is not capable to handle the crisis. He comes up with fictional figures and stories while trying to reassure America that he's still a "10". Can't they see that? Just the fact that his son-in-law, Jared Kushner has been appointed to lead the virus response team, a man who is totally unfit for such a situation. Conflicts of interest abound around him, just like his father-in-law. What's next? Ivanka spearheading Red Cross efforts? Melania getting back on her "Be Best" horse riding through the country telling everyone that cyberbullies are coming up with false coronavirus figures?
Yep, they'll fall for it. Trump is, after all, the Chosen One.
Think in terms of timeline: it shows Trump's ineptitude. It also shows how he effortlessly he shifts blame and attacks industries like 3M for things like price gauging and lying about production (see below video).
So if he continues on his merry way of being a "10" and with his supporters'lack of critical thinking ...
we're screwed.
