It is clear from Rand Paul's daily excuses and preference for business that he would have assigned no blame nor any reponsibility, whatsoever, to the proper parties involved in the Carollton crash, including the manufacturers of the bus. Rand Paul would have offered us the same excuses he now offers up for the inadequately regulated corporations operating while drunk on profit. Thank God Kentuckians have shown more responsibility towards the people affected by these 'accidents' than Rand Paul.

Like Mahoney, BP never intended to kill anyone, but their decision to lobby safety regulations for over a decade and their decision to ignore the signs of imminent disaster caused the deaths of those rig workers:

"Dozens of witness statements obtained by The Associated Press show a combination of equipment failure and a deference to the chain of command impeded the system that should have stopped the gusher before it became an environmental disaster."

"A shocking memo has revealed that British Petroleum admitted to congressional investigators that their decision to ignore warning signs hours before an oil rig exploded led to the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico."

"Tests indicted that something was wrong on the Deepwater Horizon, yet BP made a "fundamental mistake" in continuing operations, according to the memo released by Rep. Henry A. Waxman (D-Calif.) and Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.)."

"Two hours afterwards, the rig exploded, ultimately killing 11 workers."

"While some data were being transmitted to shore for safekeeping right up until the blast, officials from Transocean, the rig owner, told Congress that the last seven hours of its information are missing and that all written logs were lost in the explosion. Earlier tests that suggested explosive gas was leaking were preserved."

"The gap poses a mystery for investigators: What decisions were made - and what warnings might have been ignored?"

Max Fisher outlines in detail what he considers the six worst acts of BP regarding the spill:

1. Over-Using Dangerous Dispersants
2. Taking Too Long
3. Feuding With U.S. Officials
4. Not Giving EPA Trustworthy Data
5. Getting Police to Blockade Reporters
6. They Can't Be Forced Out

EPA data ranks Corexit, manufactured by Nalco, as being twenty times more toxic and far less effective in handling the spill situation than some other less toxic dispersants. BP defends the use Corexit by saying their attention is focused on containing the spill and not what dispersant is used.

BP understands that workers who have been exposed to Corexit have suffered a variety of major medical problems for over twenty years. BP understands that today workers trying to contain the spill and wives of fisherman are complaining of the same medical problems. BP understands Corexit has been banned in their parent country for over twenty years. Some are now posing the question of whether Corexit wipes out the oil's distinct origination signature making it easier to blame a portion of the oil damage on previous spills, which would lower BP's liability for this particular spill now hitting our shores and spreading beyond the Gulf, and asking if that may have led to it's continued use.
