Adopt the National Initiative
When I first read this list, I wondered why single payer was first, but it soon became clear:
How many people will make time, or have the courage, to advocate for peace, or any of these issues, while living in fear of debilitating, or terminal, illness without care?
Indeed. Fear of cancer without care, fear of unemployment, fear of homelessness, fear of hunger, and, fear of disgrace, loss of family, loss of friendship, and loss of love, consequent to loss of everything else. Nobody loves you when you're down and out; few, if any, will feel that they can even afford to be near you, not in a U.S.A. where it's every man and woman for him or herself and his or her health insurance.
