The Quiet Coup

It appears that the gloves were now off for that economic elite. They were willing to do whatever was necessary to regain power and dominance. As a result, chaos began to break out. By the end of the 1960s there was much unrest about Vietnam, Civil Rights, and the assassinations of three other democratizing leaders, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Bobby Kennedy. All of this resulted in the 1968 debacle in Chicago and a shift back to control by the economic elite with the election of Richard Nixon.

Beneath the chaos lay a deliberate effort to reestablish control by the ruling economic elite which signaled the beginning of a much more subtle change. This marked the start of a quiet coup, to reinstate the economic elite into lasting control

That attack was the beginning of an open rebellion against the democratic traditions of the US, culminating in the election in 2024 of Donald Trump again, this time under the flag of authoritarian governance putting the economic elite firmly back in power, the completion of the quiet coup.

Result

And now, after all the chaos, turmoil, hard work, and bloodshed, we find ourselves nearly back where we started. The only difference being that we are no longer under the rule of a foreign economic aristocracy but are instead manipulated and controlled by a domestic oligarchy of billionaires.
